Air spring capsule, also known as rubber air spring, is a spring form made of the elastic force generated by air compression.

1. basic structure
Main composition: Air spring capsules are usually composed of curved capsules composed of rubber and mesh, commonly known as pneumatic tires, corrugated pneumatic tires, airbags, skin tigers, etc. Its two ends need to be connected with two steel plates to form a compressed air chamber.
Structural features: The inner layer of rubber mainly plays a sealing role, and the outer layer of rubber also plays a protective role in addition to sealing. The cord layer mainly bears the load and is usually composed of 2 layers of cord. Products with special requirements may use 4 layers of cord layers.
2. working principle
When the air spring capsule is filled with compressed air, a column of compressed air is formed inside the capsule. With the increase of vibration load, the effective bearing area of the air column will change, which will affect the bearing capacity and stiffness of the spring.
When the vibration load increases, the air column height decreases, the inner cavity volume decreases, and the spring stiffness increases; on the contrary, when the vibration load decreases, the air column height increases, the inner cavity volume increases, and the spring stiffness decreases. In this way, the air spring in the effective stroke, its height, cavity volume, carrying capacity with the increase and decrease of the vibration load has a smooth and flexible transmission.
3. Types and Classification
According to the shape and structure, air springs can be divided into three types: bladder type, membrane type and composite type.
Bladder air spring: It is composed of a rubber airbag with cords and compressed air enclosed in it. It has good elasticity but relatively poor sealing.
Diaphragm air spring: Its airtight airbag is composed of rubber diaphragm and metal pressed parts, with low rigidity, low natural vibration frequency of the body, and small size for easy layout.
Compound air spring: between bladder type and membrane type, combining the advantages of both.
